GRA230 Magazine Layouts: Rage Against the Machine

For our final project in Typography, our task was to design a magazine layout for our favourite band/artist. We had to build the layout using a grid as our base for our design. We also had to have 3 concepts for 3 different layouts. 3 have to be IMAGE driven, 3 have to be HEADLINE driven and the last 3 must be BODY TEXT driven.

I decided to cover three different topics in each of the three concepts. First concepts talks about the band as a whole. The second one focuses on a specific member, in this, it's guitarist Tom Morello and the third one focuses on a specific album, in this case, "Evil Empire".

I found the body text driven concept to be the hardest, just simply because body text always seems so secondary to the headline of the article, so drawing attention to body text was a very interesting challenge.
